BURGER URGE FIRES UP WILSONTON AS TOOWOOMBA’S NORTH GET A TASTE OF THE ACTION
Consolidated Properties Group is injecting serious flavour into Toowoomba’s north, confirming that cult-favourite burger franchise, Burger Urge, will open its newest Queensland venue at the Wilsonton Shopping Centre this October.
The new 173sqm venue, which features an additional 50sqm of outdoor dining space, will accommodate a total of 42 patrons, with 30 seated indoors and 12 outdoors. Operating from a standalone tenancy within the centre, the venue will offer dine-in, takeaway and delivery services through major platforms as well as the brand’s proprietary Bite Club app.
Franchise partners Grant and Jordan Phillips, both long-time Toowoomba residents, said the decision to open in Wilsonton made sense both personally and commercially.
“We’re deeply connected to the Wilsonton community, it’s been home to us for many years, and it holds a special place in our hearts. Burger Urge’s values align with what we see in our own neighbourhood and that’s what has drawn us to this brand,” Mr Phillips said.
“We love how each location is given its own identity, shaped by the people and character of the area, while still maintaining a strong and consistent brand presence. We love Burger Urge’s commitment to high standards and to providing a high-quality product every time.”
Officially opening in October, Burger Urge Wilsonton will launch with a series of promotions including a Halloween-themed Block Party scheduled for Friday, 31 October. The event will feature live music, family entertainment, prizes and exclusive offers for Bite Club members.
Burger Urge members will also enjoy a $5 discount on the popular Cali Stax burger during the event.
Serving up its signature bold, gourmet burgers, loaded sides and relaxed, social vibe, the store reflects Burger Urge’s irreverent tone and commitment to delivering more than just fast food. The new store is Burger Urge’s 32nd restaurant to open nationally and aims to build on the success of the popular South Toowoomba location, strengthening the brand’s presence across the city.
The opening is set to create up to 40 local jobs, with recruitment focused on nearby suburbs. In line with the brand’s emphasis on locally owned stores and community partnerships, the owners also plan to engage with local schools, sporting clubs, and events.
Veronica Gravolin, Franchise Development Manager at Burger Urge, said the locally owned and operated model plays a key role in the brand’s success.
“Each Burger Urge store is independently owned and run by franchise partners who live in the communities they serve, and that makes a difference. Franchise partners, Grant and Jordan Phillips, both long term Toowoomba residents are well known in the area and are committed to being hands-on, visible and involved.”
Rob Clifton, Head of Leasing at Consolidated Properties Group, said the deal highlights ongoing momentum at Wilsonton Shopping Centre.
“Burger Urge aligns with our focus on experience-driven retail. It’s a strong brand with national recognition and a loyal customer base, and its presence will help activate the precinct as a dining destination for the local catchment,” Mr Clifton said.
The tenancy has been secured on a five-year lease with a five-year option.
“Wilsonton Shopping Centre continues to attract high-performing, high-visibility tenants. We’re focused on delivering a compelling mix of convenience, hospitality and community-focused operators.”
