Cornerstone Living wins prestigious architecture award

Cornerstone Living has been recognised for it’s outstanding design by the Australian Institute of Architects in their regional awards.

Stage A of the 10 hectare development was awarded in the Multiple Dwelling category as a great example of cost effective design.

Cornerstone Living is a 10 year project and one of the largest urban renewal projects in Queensland. It is a partnership with the State of Queensland, Consolidated Properties and CVS Partners, designed by Idearchitecture and built by Hutchinson Builders.

Consolidated Properties Chairman Don O’Rorke said, “We are delighted with this award which recognises the exceptional homes we, and the architecture team at Idearchiture, are creating at Sunnybank. This is the first time that a budget conscious product has been recognised for its great design in this way.

“We set out to raise the bar in terms of quality and design with this project and that’s exactly what the team has managed to do. This has been shown in the outstanding sales results – 100% of each stage of the development has been sold within days of each release.”

Idearchitecture Managing Director Fred Iezzi said, “We are extremely pleased to have Cornerstone Living recognised by our peers. The award panel’s jury cited our project for its masterplan, climatic response, future proofing and active streetscape.

“What we wanted to do was create a new a vibrant community in Sunnybank and replace old houses that were past their use by date with new homes that not only meet with demands of modern life but are also sustainable and environmentally aware – these homes are beautiful and efficient to run as well.”
