JETTS FITNESS AND BRIDGESTONE JOIN LEASING RUSH AT WILSONTON SHOPPING CENTRE

Leading Australian franchisors Jetts Fitness and Bridgestone Tyre and Auto Centres have opened for business at Toowoomba’s Wilsonton Shopping Centre, the latest national brands to sign on as part of the $25 million stage two expansion of the retail hub.

The two new leases, for a combined 736sqm, bring the number of new tenancies secured by centre owners Consolidated Properties Group and CVS Lane Capital Partner to 8 since embarking on their latest upgrade of Wilsonton Shopping Centre last year.

Jetts Fitness has locked in an eight-year lease for a 386sqm fitness centre, Wilsonton’s only 24/7 gym, with Bridgestone Tyre and Auto to take up 350sqm over 10 years.

Consolidated Properties Head of Leasing, Rob Clifton says Consolidated and CVS Lane have been focused on modernising the centre and bringing well-known retailers and businesses to Wilsonton to service growing demand from the community.

He says the signing of long-term leases with Jetts Fitness and Bridgestone Tyre and Auto Centre marks an important milestone for the centre, as these businesses sit outside of the traditional retail space.

Jetts franchisee Jason Snow says he chose to open at Wilsonton Shopping Centre as the Wilsonton area is experiencing major growth, with increasing demand from locals for a strategically located, quality 24/7 gym.

“As the area continues to grow, combined with the refurbishments and future growth of the shopping centre, we see Wilsonton as offering a prime opportunity for us to grow the Jetts brand and business in Toowoomba.

“We’ve already received overwhelmingly positive feedback regarding the gym’s welcoming atmosphere and its popularity among residents west of Toowoomba. Bridgestone Tyre and Auto Centre franchisee Jason Nieuwoudt says Bridgestone’s decision to locate in the centre is also grounded in Wilsonton’s rapid recent growth and outstanding future potential.

“In opening a Bridgestone Select Tyre and Auto centre at Wilsonton Shopping Centre we wanted to ensure people living in the north and west suburbs of Toowoomba have access to essential services conveniently located in one place – we are a one-stop tyre and auto service, which was lacking in the area before we opened,” he said.

CPG and CVS Lane bought Wilsonton Shopping centre in 2018 and immediately launched a multi-million-dollar upgrade, which included an outdoor dining precinct and improvements to the mall and centre façade. 

Wilsonton Shopping Centre is anchored by Coles and Woolworths and has more than 40 specialty stores.
