New Landmark Fitness Centre To Open At Arndale Shopping Centre

Fitness fans are in for a treat when Planet Fitness opens at Arndale Shopping Centre following a landmark lease agreement between the US’ No.1 fitness operator and mall owners Consolidated Properties Group and CVS Lane Capital Partners.

Planet Fitness has signed a 10-year lease for an 1800sqm tenancy at the Springwood centre, which recently completed a $20 million refurbishment including upgraded entries, façade and services.

The US fitness chain, which has more than 2000 locations in the US, plans to open its high-quality, low-cost fitness 24/5 gym at Arndale Shopping Centre by Christmas, 2021 after a multi-million-dollar investment with the centre’s owners.

Consolidated Properties Group Executive Director Craig O’Donnell said Planet Fitness represents a landmark leasing commitment for the centre.

Planet Fitness Arndale Shopping Centre will offer when it opens more than 200 state-of-the-art equipment pieces, the Planet Fitness 30-Minute Express full-body circuit, locker rooms and showers, HydroMassage beds, massage chairs, spray tanning, red light therapy and more.

The Arndale facility will be open and staffed 24 hours a day from Monday to Friday and between 7am and 7pm on Saturday and Sunday.

The new Planet Fitness lease comes as several tenants including anchor Coles commit to long-term leases.

Mr O’Donnell said he expects the small number of remaining tenancies to be filled in the coming months and urged interested retailers to get in touch with CPG.

Consolidated Properties Group and CVS Lane Capital Partners purchased Arndale Shopping Centre in October 2019.

The centre boasts 11,000sqm of floor space with 35 specialty stores anchored by Coles Supermarket.
