O’Donnell’s Bakehouse set to fill missing piece of Wilsonton pie

As construction continues on schedule for the $20 million upgrade of Wilsonton Shopping Centre, Robyn O’Donnell and her husband Brenden are set to bring their award-winning bread, pies and pastries to the growing retail hub.
O’Donnell’s Bakehouse, which has been a firm fixture of Wilsonton Heights for the past nine years, will expand to a second store in the shopping centre in the coming weeks to meet growing demand from the local community.
The O’Donnell’s have been in the bakery business for over two decades, and Robyn says she expects the new Wilsonton Shopping Centre store to be a hit with locals.
“We pride ourselves on our hand-made bread, pastries, pies, sweets and cakes and still take an old-fashioned approach to baking, which has made us stand out in the community since setting up shop in 2010,” she said.
“Our bread is preservative-free and has won several awards over the years, making it the loaf of choice for families all over Toowoomba.”
“We chose to open a second store at the Wilsonton Shopping Centre because we do our groceries there and have noticed it’s a wonderful place to go without having the hustle and bustle of a large-scale shopping precinct.”
“It’s amazing to see how quickly the shopping centre is progressing and we look forward to meeting our new customers.”
The upgrade is being undertaken by Wilsonton Shopping Centre’s owners and managers Consolidated Properties Group and CVS Lane Capital Partners. Works commenced in September last year and is expected to reach completion in the coming months.
The renovation includes upgrades to the northern and western entry facades, additional signage, full internal and external repainting, new furniture and lighting, new landscaping and improvements to roofing and public amenities.
