YEERONGPILLY GREEN RETAIL HUB LINE UP FILLS UP AS CONSTRUCTION MOVES AHEAD
The centrepiece of Brisbane’s $850 million riverside Yeerongpilly Green development, YG Riverside Village, is filling up fast with six new retailers signing on for when the mixed-use community’s retail hub opens next year.
Yeerongpilly Green is a joint venture between Consolidated Properties Group, CVS Lane Capital Partners and the Queensland Government to turn 14 hectares of riverfront land into a major urban renewal project in Brisbane’s south suburb, Yeerongpilly.
The first stage will comprise a modern-full line Woolworths supermarket spanning 11,600sqm, one level of boutique offices, specialty retailers, a dining precinct and a major gym and wellness precinct in addition to secure basement car parking.
Consolidated Properties Group Head of Retail Kieran Cox said a raft of new tenants had signed on in the past six months including a pharmacy (220sqm), BWS (149sqm), Jimmy Rod’s barber shop (56sqm), Jessica James Hair (67sqm), Lux Nail Bar & Co (76sqm) and Massage Inn (80sqm).
“It is very exciting to see the retail hub take shape at YG Riverside Village with six new retailers offering a broad range of services to add to Woolworths,” Mr Cox said.
“We call it YG Riverside Village because we want it to have a real community feel with residents able to visit their hairdresser, barber, bottle shop, massage shop and nail salon on site, and to know all the owners by name.
“One of the key things we want to deliver is significant retail amenity onsite to Yeerongpilly and surrounding residents.”
Construction of the BVN-designed retail centre was progressing well with Hutchinson Builders on site. The basement slab is nearly complete, and Hutchinson Builders started pouring the first sections of the ground floor level, with the second level on track to start early in the New Year.
YG Riverside Village leasing agents Cameron Taudevin & Taylor Macri, of JLL, are excited about the ongoing interest in YG Riverside Village.
Mr Taudevin said the commitment from the tenants thus far had driven interest from other interested tenants which wanted to join the line-up.
“Key lifestyle precincts like this continue to perform strongly from both a leasing and trade perspective,” he said.
“We’re getting numerous inquiries from prospective tenants who want to get in on the ground floor of this new venture.
“YG Riverside Village is due to open mid-late 2023 and will provide a vital service to residents.”
